Fire Prevention Week 10/06 - 10/12

SERVPRO of Quincy would like to remind all of our family and friends about Fire Prevention Week. This year it is from Sunday 10/06 thru Saturday 10/12. We will focus today on how to make a Home Fire Escape Plan.

Setup your Home Fire Escape Plan

10  Easy Steps

1.) Draw a map of your home. Show all doors and windows.

2.) Visit each room. Find two ways out.

3.) All windows and doors should open easily. You should be able to use them to get outside.

4.) Make sure your home has smoke alarms. Push the test button to make sure each alarm is working.

5.) Pick a meeting place outside. It should be in front of your home. Everyone will meet at the meeting place. Pick something that doesn't move.

6.) Make sure your house or building number can be seen from the street.

7.) Talk about your plan with everyone in your home.

8.) Learn the emergency phone number for your fire department. Plus... 9-1-1

9.) Practice your home fire drill! At minimum, twice per year.

10.) Make your own home fire escape plan using the map you created in Step 1.

If a fire does happen, please follow these steps, your safety is what matters. The physical stuff can be replace; You can not be!
